Company Overview and Staffing

In 2002, Orosz Engineering Group, Inc. (OEG)was formed to provide more personal traffic engineering and project management services to a larger range of clients in Kern, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura Counties. Our emphasis is on providing innovative solutions to public and private clients.

We have completed traffic signal designs and street striping plans in Santa Barbara (City and County), San Luis Obispo (City), Ventura (City and County), City of Camarillo, San Diego, Orange and Los Angeles Counties. Through the same geographic locations, OEG has prepared traffic control and street striping plans for various street improvement projects including sewer and water pipeline projects in association with civil engineering firms.

The firm is led by Mr. Stephen A. Orosz. Mr. Orosz is a registered Traffic Engineering in the state of California (TR-1209), Civil Engineer in the State of California (CE 36995) and holds the title of Professional Traffic Operations Engineer through the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) nationally. He graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1980 with a degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Emphasis and is currently affiliated with the professional societies of ITE and APWA. Mr. Orosz is also furthering the profession through his work with the State Board of Registration as a committee member for the preparation of the Traffic Engineer Title License Examination.

Mr. Orosz has performed numerous parking demand and unique traffic generation studies throughout Central and Southern California. During the course of his career, Mr. Orosz has developed designs of various size parking facilities from 8 space parking lots to lots/structures totaling several thousand parking spaces.

Mr. Orosz’s transportation planning projects include a significant number of residential and commercial projects in the Central California counties of Kern, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura Counties. Numerous traffic impact analyses of large (over two million square feet) and small (2,500 square feet) office, retail, hotel, and mixed use projects in Southern California. The planning projects have been completed for a number of public agencies through a lead environmental consultant.

In addition to serving public agencies and private clients, our work has been expanding to include managing and providing project representation for commercial and residential projects in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties for private clients. This representation has included presentations to approval bodies, applications, and developing an understanding of the needs of various agency members to achieve the desired approvals.

Prior to forming OEG, Inc., Mr. Orosz was the principal traffic engineer at Penfield & Smith Engineers. During his 14 years with the firm, he managed a growing department, provided site planning services, project management, and conducted various traffic engineering and transportation planning assignments. Prior to that time, Mr. Orosz worked in various increasing responsibility positions in the Orange County in the traffic engineering field.  He is proficient in management and preparation of circulation system analyses utilizing both computerized and manual methods; traffic safety and high accident location analysis; traffic impact studies, reports and environmental document sections; traffic/parking surveys and reports; transportation planning and travel forecasting; traffic control device inventories and analysis; traffic operations analysis and design. His experience includes Transportation Demand Management (TDM) plan preparation for internal and external companies per local ordinance requirements and continued work with regulating agencies in the monitoring and development of livable and workable programs.

Mr. Orosz has access to subconsultants in the areas of CAD including the use of AUTOTURN software to produce technical engineering plans, graphic design for any presentation exhibit preparation, and traffic counting companies.
